C. Zimmerman Is Taken Suddenly
Center Township farmer Is Victim Of Heart Attack Early Friday Morning
funeral services were held Monday morning from the Congregational church at Church for Charles Zimmerman, resident of Allamakee for nearly 60 years, who died suddenly Friday morning at his farm home in Center township. Reverend Henry Marks officiated. Interment was in lansing Ridge cemetery.
Death was attributed to a heart attack due to over exertion. Mr. Zimmerman had chopped wood the afternoon before and compained to his brother of pains in the chest the evening before. Friday morning he called his brother, who lives on the neighboring farm and asked him to come over, said he was not feeling well. His brother hurried over and called a doctor and Mr. Zimmerman passed away shortly after the doctor arrived.
Mr. Zimmerman was born on a farm in Center Township on April 23, 1879 a son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Zimmerman, Allamakee County pioneers. On November 16 he was married to Amelia Bechtel and they have since lived on the same farm. Survivors include his wife and a brother, Fred. His wife was a patient in a La Crosse hospital at the time of his death.
