Death of Former Resident Mrs. Wm. May

Relatives in Lansing were apprised early this week of the death of Mrs. Annie May, which occurred Aug. 29th at her home in Victoria, B. C. She was aged 84 years and born near Lansing on the old Adam Hirth farm, a sister of the late Andrew Hirth. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. C. E. Gates, Everett, Wash.; Mrs. S. Turpel, and Mrs. Lillian Pearson, Victoria, and a number of nephews and nieces. The funeral services were held that week-end and burial was made in the Ross Bay cemetery. Deceased is the last of a family of six children.

Anna was the daughter of Adam & Margaret Hirth of Mays Prairie. She married William May in Waukon, Iowa on 21 Nov. 1878. William died in 1910, at Wellington, Wash. in an avalanche. Both are buried in Ross Bay cemetery. Victoria, B. C.
