Robert Lloyd Stuckman was born February 29, 1924 in Waukon, the son of Albert and Mabel Elsie (Flage) Stuckman. He was baptized and confirmed at Salem United Church of Christ, where he remained a lifelong member. Robert attended the Pagan, Helming and Union Prairie rural schools. After his schooling he helped his parents on the farm and later went into farming for himself at the Stuckman Homestead farm located on the Allamakee and Winneshiek County border. He operated a dairy herd and raised beef cattle, hogs and crops. February 25, 1968 he married Arla Jeanette Sandbeck at the Glenwood Lutheran Church in rural Decorah. They remained on the farm until moving to Waukon around 1980.
Robert enjoyed traveling and took several trips to the west coast to visit relatives. He liked spending time in his garden, where he raised a lot of potatoes. Robert really enjoyed the farming life and he took every chance he could to not only visit with, but to help his neighbors when needed.
Survivors include a brother, Victor (Jean) Stuckman of Waukon, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Arla, who died in 2000; and a sister, La Vonne Hill.
Casketbearers are Chris Stuckman, Norman Dickman, Darrell Winkie, Gregg Shattuck, Dean Smorstad, and Gary, Doug and Bruce Kubitz.
