CHARLES W. VICKERY
Charles W. Vickery of rural Waukon, died Monday, Dec. 21 at the VA hospital in Iowa City at the age of 71.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Dec. 23 at 1 p.m. at Martin funeral home with burial in Evergreen cemetery, rural Waukon.
He was born June 25, 1916 in Allamakee County to Willard and Melvia Gress Vickery. He attended Allamakee county schools and served in the Army during WW II. He was a retired laborer previously employed in farming, saw mills and construction work.
Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Glenn (Fern) Roffman, Waukon: a brother, Elwood Vickery, Opp, AL and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Gladys and a brother, Robert.
Casket bearers were Lloyd Martin, John Byrnes, Butch Johnson, Curt Steele, Tim O'Neill and Brian Martin.
