SHARBONDY RELATIVE, 97 BURIED FRIDAY
Had lived entire life in cabin near Monona

Jacob Sharbondy, half-brother of Peter Sharbondy of Allendorf (crossed out illegible written in), was buried Friday near Monona, Iowa. Peter Sharbondy and his son, Alvin, attended the services.
Sharbondy had spent practically his entire life in his log cabin home on the Yellow River in Allamakee county, near Monona.
Indians used to pitch their tepees near the cabin to dig for ginseng. Stage coaches made daily trips past the door. Mr. Sharbondy and wife, who died several years ago, reared thirteen children in their log cabin. All are living.

Hand written on copy Sibley Gazette March 15, 1934
