Kenneth L. Rathbun

Funeral services for Kenneth L. Rathbun were held Wednesday, February 26, 1986 at 11:00 a.m. at the Waterville Lutheran Church with Rev. Judd Larson officiating. Pallbearers were Glen Thorsen, James Rathbun, Lee Rathbun, Gene Leiran, George Huffey, Robert Thompson and Orville Nelson. Burial was in the Old East Paint Creek Cemetery. Martin's Funeral Home was in charge of services. Military Graveside rites were by the Harpers Ferry American Legion.

Kenneth L. Rathbun, 67, of Harpers Ferry, Iowa, was born April 11, 1918 at Postville, Iowa. He was the son of Charles H. and Harriet N. (Huffey) Rathbun. He received his education at the Waterville High School and Waukon Junior College. He was a farmer and electrician. Kenneth served in the Army during WW II in Italy and North Africa. He was a member of the American Legion and VFW. He was a member of the Waterville Lutheran Church. On September 1, 1959 he was united in marriage to Ruby Bush at the Waterville Lutheran Church. He died February 23, 1986 at Veteran's Administration Medical Center, Iowa City, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by one grandson. Survivors include his wife Ruby; five children, Mrs. Rodney (Carolyn) Rink of Morgan City, Iowa, Mrs. Mark (Sharon) Klingeman of Monona, Mrs. Steven (Paula) Dahlstrom of Luana, Ralph and Kenneth V., both of Harpers Ferry; and 2 brothers, Lawrence of Waterville and Hartley of Strawberry Point.
