Funeral Services Are Held For Dewey Rush
Funeral services were held for Dewey Rush of the Rossville community with the Rev. E. Wayne Hilmer of Monona in charge of the rites.
Dewey Rush, a farmer of the Rossville community, died Sunday morning having attained the age of 58 on January 4, 1958. He was born the son of Eston and Amanda Denning Rush on a farm near Rossville in Franklin township, Allamakee county, was educated in the township school and grew to manhood there.
On June 27, 1923, he was married to Hazel Hefner of Volney at the farm home of her parents. To them were born three children. Delores Jean, who passed away February 15, 1925; Elmer, farming near his father's farm, and Lauryne (Mrs. James Prouty), who with her family have been staying with her mother. Mr. Rush was a member of the Volney Church.
On November 19, 1957, Mr. Rush entered the Oakdale Hospital where he passed away March 16. Besides his wife and children he leaves five grandchildren; three brothers, Ray of Rossville, Jess of La Crosse, Leslie of Cresco; three sisters, Mrs. Ethel Walter of Rossville, Mrs. Vern (Blanche) Thornton of Postville, and Mrs. Dick (Vernie) Stahl of Lansing. His parents, one brother and one sister preceded him in death.
