Services Held For Emma Rolfs

Funeral services were held for Emma Rolfs, 79, Friday, July 31 at 1:30 p.m. at Zion United Church of Christ, Waukon. Burial was in the Oakland cemetery. She died Tuesday, July 28, 1981 at Lutheran Hospital, LaCrosse, WI.

Emma was the daughter of William and Lena Reutkemeier Kostman and was born January 13, 1902 in Postville. She received her education at Ludlow No. 7 and was baptized and confirmed at Bethlehem Presbyterian Church, Postville. In later years she transferred to the Zion United Church of Christ.

She and Walter Rolfs were married January 17, 1924 in Waukon. They were the parents of five daughters: Mrs. Walter (Marjorie) White of Postville, Mrs. Melvin (Irene) Carney of Fairfield, OH, Mrs. Duane (Gladys) Hartson of Waterloo, Mrs. Kenneth (Darlene) Hudson of Des Moines and Mrs. Delmar (Janet) Decker of Waukon; three sons, Donald of Cedar Falls, Lloyd of Castalia, and Charles of Waukon; 25 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren, and two brothers, Paul and Elmer Kostman, both of Waukon.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a sister, Mrs. Ben (Clara) Shafer and brothers John, Edward, Otto and William Kostman.
