Mrs. Anna Rolfs Funeral Service Held On Friday

Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Rolfs were held at St. Paul's Lutheran church in Postville last Friday afternoon and interment was made in Postville cemetery following the services.

Mrs. Rolfs had passed away in the Waukon hospital Monday after a several months illness. She was 69 years of age.

Mrs. Rolfs was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fritz Madaus and was born in Clayton county on October 7, 1873. She grew to womanhood in that vicinity and on February 7, 1893, was married to George L. Rolfs at Postville.

They became the parents of eight children, six of whom survive, namely, Mrs. Grant Clark, Mrs. Simon Grotegut, Jr. and Leonard Rolfs, Waukon; Walter and Harvey of Decorah; Mrs. Marvin Winter, Forest Mills. Her husband, a son, Richard, and a daughter, Elsie Latterman, preceded her in death.

Besides caring for her own family, Mrs. Rolfs raised the four children of her deceased daughter. Others left to mourn are a twin brother, August and a sister Mrs. Lizzie Schall, residing in Wisconsin, 32 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
