The death of Mrs. Charles Herman occurred at the Veterans Memorial Hospital Wednesday, May 9 an hour after she entered the hospital for treatment.
Marie Althea Nelson, daughter of Gilman Nelson and Albertina Anderson was born Oct. 18, 1893 in Makee Township where she lived all her life. She was educated in the local schools and her marriage to Charles Herman took place at the Zion Reformed church May 6, 1924.
They were parents of three children, Lorna, Karl, and George all of Waukon who with her husband survive. There are two grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers, Edwin Nelson, Elkhorn, Wis., Albert, Cumberland, Wis., and Ole, Waukon. Two sisters, Mrs. Emma Kaeser, Waukon and Mrs. Minnie Hanson, Cedar Falls.
Mrs. Herman is a member of St. John's Lutheran church, from which her funeral will be held. The Rev. Mr. W.K. Benbow officiating, and burial will be made in Oakland cemetery. The body will be at Martin funeral home.
