Alfred H. Ronnfeldt, 59, of Waterville, Iowa, died Friday, March 28, 2003, at his home following a sudden illness. Funeral services were held Monday, March 31 at Waterville Lutheran Church in Waterville, with Rev. Laura Gentry officiating. Burial was in the Waterville Lutheran Cemetery. Martin Funeral Home in Waukon assisted with arrangements. In Lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.

Alfred Henry Ronnfeldt was born December 6, 1943, at the Waterville home of his parents, Chris and Nora (Dundee) Ronnfeldt. He was baptized and confirmed at the Waterville Lutheran Church and attended Waterville Elementary and High School. Following school, he worked with his father for Fox Construction and helped build bridges all over Iowa. In 1965, he moved to Cedar Rapids where he worked for Montgomery Wards and K-Mart. He returned to Waterville in 1976 and since 1977 has worked for Northern Engraving of Waukon in the maintenance department. Al was a former volunteer for the Waterville Fire Department. He enjoyed going out to eat, watching television, listening to music, woodworking, and spending time with children.

Survivors include a sister, Janice (Jim) Pfiffner of Harpers Ferry; two brothers, Robert of Waterville and William (Karen) of Omaha, Neb.; two sisters-in-law, Mary Ronnfeldt of Hartley, Iowa, and Ellen Ronnfeldt of Waterville; along with numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister Marietta, and two brothers, Vernon and Walter.

Honorary casketbearers were Ernie Burroughs, Perry Norton, George Smrcina, Karlton Gruel, Donald Johnson, Rod Peterson, Gene Hitchcock and Ernie Osland. Casketbearers are Terry Pederson, Steve Pfiffner, Scott Adam, Jim Rathbun, Roy Ronnfeldt, and Gary, Kevin, and Joe Dundee.
