Funeral services were held at the Schutte Funeral Home on Saturday August 10, at 1:00 p.m. for Mrs. Bertha Thomas, with the Rev. Lenwood Monte in charge. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery.

Mrs. John (Bertha Ewing) Thomas, was born July 23, 1886, in Allamakee County, Iowa, the daughter of Jacob Ewing and Alice Lawson Ewing, and died August 7, 1968, at Our Lady of Lourdes Convalescent Home, Dubuque, at the age of 82.

She is survived by her daughter Nettie (Mrs. Vern Koons), Mrs. Nellie Wilson, Ethel (Mrs. Kenneth Nelson); son, William and 16 grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and one daughter.
