Frank A. Tehel

Funeral services were held at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville, Monday, September 19 at 2:00 p.m. for Frank A. Tehel who died September 16 at University of Iowa hospitals, Iowa City. The Rev. Norris C. Swenson officiated.

Born May 8, 1924 at Castalia, Frank was the son of Frank and Nellie Frey [Fry]Tehel.

Upon graduation from Postville high school in 1943, Frank enlisted in the United States Navy and served in the South Pacific during World War II.

January 13, 1945, he was united in marriage to Marilyn Heins. They farmed until 1960 then operated Frank's Recreation and later the Red Lantern Supper Club, both in Postville.

He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville, a life member of AMVETS, a member of the American Legion and the VFW.

His parents preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife and five children, Frank of Norfolk, Virginia; Sherrie, Leo and Reginald of Postville, and Mrs. Bernard (Sally) Bromelkamp of Monona; also a brother Ray, Harpers Ferry and two sisters, Mrs. Earl (Catherine) Dahms of West Concord, Minnesota and Mrs. Merlyn (Gertrude) Thiele of Brighton, Colorado.

Interment was in the Postville Cemetery.
