Rites Held For Elaine Miller
Elaine Kay Miller, the daughter of Roland and Marjorie (Stock) Miller, was born at Waukon, Iowa on April 3, 1945. She was baptized by the pastor of the Bethlehem Presbyterian Church, Ludlow on May 27, 1945, and confirmed in St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Postville on March 22, 1959. She died as the result of a tragic accident on August 22, 1965, at the age of 20 years, four months and 19 days.
She attended the country schools in Ludlow and began in the eighth grade in the Postville Schools, graduating from the Postville high school in the class of 1963. She had been employed by the Ray-O-Vac Company in Madison, Wisconsin.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, William Stock of Waukon.
She is survived by her parents; one sister, Doreen, at home; her maternal grandmother, Mrs. William Stock of Waukon; her paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William F. Miller of Postville and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted in St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Postville, with the pastor, the Rev. Charles E. Witt, officiating on August 24, at 2:00 p. m. Burial was in the Postville Cemetery.

WAUKON WOMAN KILLED IN CRASH
WAUKON --- A rural Waukon woman, Elaine Miller, 20, was killed early Sunday in a one-car accident four miles south of here on highway 51. The driver of the car, Ernest Lee Decker, 24, also of rural Waukon, was injured. He was listed in fair condition Monday at the Waukon hospital.Allamakee County Sheriff Theodore Rumph said the car left the highway and rammed into an embankment. Miss Miller was killed instantly. Decker was knocked unconscious for a time. After regaining consciousness, he walked to the Donald Brown farm home and called the sheriff.
Miss Miller's body was taken to the Schutte funeral home in Postville. She is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roland Miller, and a sister, Doreen, 17.
Decker is the son of Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Decker.
___________________________________________________________The following is two paragraphs from another article that basically says the same as above, plus the following: .........Seriously injured in the accident was Ernest Lee Decker, 24, driver of the 1959 Plymouth which was going west on a country road, passed a stop sign, crossed highway 51 and ploughed head on into a grassy bank.
Decker is a patient at the Waukon hospital suffering extensive head and facial injuries and a serious jaw injury.
