CLOY E. WATERS

Rites Held For Former Resident

Funeral services for Cloy E. Waters, 63, executive vice president of the White County Bank, Carmi, Illinois, was held at Yates Funeral home in Kankakee, Illinois. Burial was in Mt. Calvery cemetery there.

Mr. Waters, a resident of Carmi, died Thursday evening at the home of his brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Groff, at Kankakee, Illinois following a three months illness. He had submitted to surgery at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester about four weeks ago.

Cloy E. Waters, son of George and Eliza Eaton Waters, was born April 27, 1894. He was graduated from Postville high school, class of 1912, and was employed at the Citizens State Bank here for a number of years.

He united in marriage with Evangeline Groff of Ossian, the ceremony taking place July 6, 1916, at Saint Raphael's rectory in Dubuque. After leaving Postville, Mr. and Mrs. Waters went to Hammond, Indiana and in 1932 Mr. Waters was appointed assistant examiner with the Iowa State Banking Department in charge of the American Savings Bank and Trust Company of Burlington.

After leaving Burlington, they lived in Des Moines, Carlisle and Kewanee, Illinois where he held bank positions.

Surviving are his wife and brother, Eaton, of Postville. His parents preceded him in death.
