Last Rites For Harry Westerholm

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 14 at 1:30 p.m. from St. John's Lutheran church in Waukon for Harry Alfred Westerholm, 71, who died Tuesday, March 12 in Waukon Veterans Memorial hospital.

The Rev. Marlyn Hansing will officiate and burial will be in Oakland cemetery. Lester Larson, Francis Kessel, Thomas Stone, John Campbell, Gary Berger and Matt Ryan will be pallbearers. Martin funeral home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Westerholm was born March 6, 1903 in Detroit Lakes, Minn. He was a son of Albert and Elizabeth Colman Westerholm. He attended schools in Detroit Lakes and Dec. 1, 1928 married Abbie Miller in Detroit Lakes. They moved to Waukon in 1931.

Survivors are his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Betty Scruggs of Waukon, and three sons, Harlen of Walker, Norin of Center Point and Kleo of Ridgefield, Wash. Ten grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and a brother Charles of Moorehead, Minn., also survive. Three sisters and four brothers preceded him in death.

Mr. Westerholm was employed with the city water department in Waukon until his retirement. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran church and of the Waukon fire department for many years.
