Margaret N. Koch, 88, of Waukon died Monday, July 23, 2007 at the Good Samaritan Center in Waukon. A prayer service will be held Wednesday, July 25 at 7 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon, with Pastor James Glesne officiating. Burial will be held Thursday, July 26 at 3 p.m. in Wisconsin Memorial Park Cemetery in Brookfield, WI. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon.

Margaret Nellie Koch was born October 30, 1918 in Oconto, WI, the daughter of Phillip and Alice (McDonnell) Wanner. She attended elementary school and high school in Wisconsin. Margaret graduated from Wisconsin State University in Oshkosh, WI. She started her teaching career in Honolulu, HI.

Margaret moved back to the Wisconsin area where she married Clinton Russell Koch July 19, 1947 at the Tabor Lutheran Church in Menominee, MI. She then taught in Michigan and Wisconsin before retiring and moving to Decorah to be closer to her family. Margaret moved to Waukon in 2001. She was a member of AARP and enjoyed cooking, gardening and spending time with family.

Survivors include her son, Scott (Fritzie) of Reedsville, WI; eight grandchildren; three sisters, Phyllis Hatfield of Suring, WI, Romayne Eraneage of Arizona and Bernadine (Lawrence) Gronmark of Menominee, MI; four brothers, Phillip (Lucille) Wanner, Jr. of Clintonville, WI, Roger (Harriett) Wanner of Wausau, WI, Donald (Judy) Wanner of Mountain, WI, and Robert (Sandra) Wanner of Oneida, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clinton; a son, Bruce; and a sister, Mabel Wanner.

Casketbearers were her grandchildren, Clint, Matthew, Michael, Christopher, Brett and Seth Koch, Adam Saldky and Stephanie Dennis.
