Respected Pioneer is Victim of Pneumonia

This community was shocked this morning by the announcement of the death of Daniel Sires, four miles south of Spangle, of pneumonia.

Mr. Sires was born in Indiana 63 years ago. When six years old he moved with his parents to Allamakee county, Iowa, and remained there until 1883 when he moved to Spangle, Washington, where he settled on the farm where he has since lived. He spent two and one-half years in the 9th Iowa Calvary during '65-'66.

He leaves besides his widow two sons, Charles and Joseph; and one daughter, Mrs. Louis (Anna) Gleason.

The funeral will be held Monday.
