Frank Sires of Olympia, Washington, died Tuesday, September 22, 1970, in an Olympia nursing home.
Born November 4, 1879, in Allamakee county, Iowa, he was a blacksmith and an interior and exterior decorator.
In 1908 Mr. Sires homesteaded in Canada 25 miles from Brownlee, Saskatchewan. In 1925 he moved to Yakima, Washington, and the following year moved to College Place, Washington. He moved to Olympia in 1945. He was a Seventh Day Adventist.
He is survived by his wife, Alice (Davis) of Olympia; three daughters, Mrs. Beaulah Rogers of Sebastopol, California; Mrs. Celia McKeown of Molalla, Oregon; and Mrs. Miletus Ziarko of Glendale, California; two half brothers, Roy Sires of Hawkeye, Iowa; and Dan Sires of New Albin, Iowa; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held this Friday starting at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Lacey Funeral Home. K. Eldon Baker, pastor of the Seventh Day Adventist church will officiate with burial following in Masonic Memorial Park.
