Rites Held For Mrs. Wm. Kruger
Funeral services for Mrs. William Kruger, 69, who died Friday evening, May 12, at the home of her son-in-law and daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Elvin Johnson and Miss Elizabeth Kruger at Ellsworth, were held Monday at the United Church of Christ in Ludlow.
Mrs. Kruger had been in ill health the past year. A prayer service was held Saturday evening at Webster City and the body was then brought to the Schutte Funeral Home in Postville. Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday at the United Church of Christ at Ludlow, with the Rev. Walter Clausing officiating. Burial was in Salem cemetery, Ludlow.
Lydia Hesse, daughter of August and Amelia Hesse, was born March 10, 1898, at Waukon, where she was reared and educated. She was united in marriage April 26, 1917, to William Kruger, and the couple made Frankville their home since.
She is survived by her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Willard (Esther) Snitker, Postville, Mrs. Elvin (Evelyn) Johnson and Miss Elizabeth Kruger, both of Ellsworth; a son, Emmett Kruger, Postville; 11 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one sister and two brothers; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one son, Elmer, in 1966; by her parents; one brother and one sister.
She was a member of the United Church of Christ at Ludlow.
