Gale Welzel 1912-1988

Funeral services for Gale Welzel, 76, of Prairie du Chien, were held at the Garrity Funeral Home there Monday, August 15. Rev. Gary Grindeland officiated and burial was in the Postville Cemetery.

He died at his home in Prairie du Chien August 11, 1988.

He was born Jan. 25, 1912 in Postville to Carl and Minnie Schroeder Welzel.

He and Mary Waters were married in Caledonia, MN on June 6, 1936. They farmed until 1971 when they moved to Prairie du Chien.

Survivors include his wife, Mary; a son, Gale of Manitou Springs, CO and a sister, Delores Welzel of Wheaton, IL.
