Irene Feickert

Irene E. Feickert, of Frankville, passed away Saturday evening, March 31, 2007, at the Franciscan Skemp Medical Center in LaCrosse, Wis., following a brief illness. She was 85.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 4, at Washington Prairie Lutheran Church, rural Decorah, with Pastor Kim. W. Smith presiding. Visitation was held from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 3, at Schutte Funeral Home in Postville. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the Postville Cemetery.

She was born August 1, 1921, near Postville. She was married to Theodare Feickert on October 1, 1940, in Postville.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Victor C. and Emma (Willman) Meyer; her husband, Theodore "Ted" Feickert; a son, Allen Feickert; and a brother, Leonard Meyer.

She is survived by three sons, Lloyd (Marsha) Feickert of Marion, DuWayne (Judy) Feickert, Postville, and Jeffrey (Sharon) Feickert, Frankville; five daughters, Norma (Wayne) Hemry, Ossian, Joyce (Milton) Nelson, Decorah, Judy (Michael) Moore, Decorah, Vicky Kelly, Ankeny, and Rhonda (Doug) Koenig, Frankville; a daughter-in-law, Susan Feickert, Marion; and twenty-four grandchildren, thirty-five great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
