Funeral services for Margaret Wagner were held Monday, June 19, 10:30 a.m. in St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville. Rev. Julius L. Peterson officiated. Schutte Funeral Service, Postville, was in charge of arrangements. Interment was in the Postville Cemetery.

Margaret Alma Augusta Wagner, daughter of Henry and Louisa (Knodt) Oldag, was born July 3, 1910 in Grand Meadow Township, near Luana, Iowa. She died Thursday, June 15, 1989 in Community Memorial Hospital at Postville, Iowa.

She was baptized August 22, 1910 by Rev. R. Kuehne and confirmed Aug. 31, 1924 by Rev. E. Schmidt. Margaret attended the Luana Consolidated School.

On June 2, 1926 she married Arthur Joseph Wagner at Decorah. The couple had 3 children.

They farmed in Grand Meadow Township until 1952, when they moved to Postville. She was employed as a sales clerk for 23 years, first for Huebner's, Kramer's and then for Palmquist's Department Store. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville, the ALCW and Grand Meadow Country Club.

She moved to Marcus to live with her son, Karlton. In 1981 she moved to Postville where she has lived in the West Wind Apartments.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Arthur, who died in 1963.

Surviving are a son, Karlton, Postville; 2 daughters, Marilyn and her husband, Reuben Hoth, Monona and Ardyth Cook of Postville; 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Casket bearers were Randy Hoth, Leland Hoth, Alan Hoth, David Hoth, Dennis Cook and Clifford Knudtson.
