Theresia Baltz

Funeral services for Theresia Baltz, 93, were held Thursday, Sept. 6, 1984 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville. The Rev. Julius L. Peterson officiated. The Schutte Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Postville Cemetery.

Theresia D. Baltz, daughter of John and Mary Magdalena (Knodt) Casten, was born March 12, 1891 in Grand Meadow Township. She died Tuesday, Sept. 4, at the Good Samaritan Center in Postville.

She was baptized Sept. 24, 1891 and confirmed April 16, 1905 in St. Paul Lutheran Church. She attended the rural schools of Grand Meadow Township.

Tracy was married to August Baltz and they farmed on the family farm in Allamakee County. She had also been employed by Dr. Kiesau and the Postville State Bank. In June of 1979 she became a resident of the Good Samaritan Center.

Tracy was a lifetime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and a member of the LCW, serving as the treasurer for many years.

She is preceded in death by her parents and five brothers, Karl, Walter, Victor, Lorenz and John O. (Jack).

Surviving are a daughter, Marguerite (Mrs. Tom Casella) of San Antonio, TX, two granddaughters, Michelle Brinkley of San Antonio, TX, and Linda Salitore of Chicago, a great granddaughter, Gina Salitore and a step great grandson, Brendan Brinkley and a brother, Leonard Casten, Postville.
