Christian Wintrick
Funeral services for Christian Wintrick, 76, were held Saturday, March 28, in the Martin Funeral Home in Waukon, Rev. Nelson Preus, pastor of Lutheran church of Waukon, officiating.
Interment was made in Oakland Cemetery, Waukon.
Mr. Wintrick passed away following a period of lingering illness.
The son of Christian Wintrick and Magdalene Brennaman Wintrick, he was born in Zurich, Switzerland April 26, 1876. He came to this country with his parents at an early age and most of his life was spent in Franklin township northeast of Postville.
He was married to Mary Hamann and two daughters were born, both of whom survive.
He was engaged in farming and continued this work as long as his health permitted.
Survivors include his widow, two daughters, (Augusta) Mrs. Arch Webster of Luana and (Mae) Mrs. Lloyd Barrett of Lansing; two sisters, (Ida) Mrs. M. W. Miller of Winthrop, Minnesota and (Elizabeth) Mrs. G. A. Brooks of Postville; five grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and other relatives and many friends.
A brother, Fred, and half-sister, Mary, and his parents preceded him in death.
Relatives from Winthrop, Gaylord and Gibbon, Minnesota; Bangor, Wisconsin; Cedar Rapids, Vinton, Elkader, New Albin, Lansing, Decorah and Postville attended the service.
