MARIAN H. TIMS, 76, a nurse, died March 5, 1997, at a local care facility.

Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church, 420 N. Nevada Ave. Burial will be at Fort Riley Cemetery in Junction City, Kan. Mountain View Mortuary, 2350 Montebello Square Drive, is handling local arrangements.

Mrs. Tims was born April 1, 1920, in Allamakee County, Iowa, to Ben and Winefred A. (May) Helming, who are deceased.

She was married to Frank R. Tims, who is deceased.

She is survived by two sons, Terrence R. and Anthony H., both of Colorado Springs; a brother, John Helming of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; a sister, Dorothy Helming of Cedar Rapids; and two grandchildren.

Mrs. Tims attended nursing school in Chicago. She loved reading, completing crossword puzzles, and animals and sports.

She had lived in the Colorado Springs area for 27 years.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society
