Union Prairie Farmer Passes
Thomas L. Cassidy Dies At His Home Early
Sunday After Year's IllnessThomas L. Cassidy, well known farmer of Union Prairie township, passed away early Sunday morning at his home, following a year's illness. Death was caused by complications resulting from asthma.
Thomas L. Cassidy was born October 4, 1872, at Brownsville, Wisconsin, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Cassidy. When a boy the family moved to Allamakee county, and settled on a farm in Union Prairie township, which has since been his home. On November 20, he was married to Miss Mary Curtin at St. Patrick's church in Waukon, and they settled down to home life on their farm in Union Prairie township. four daughters were born to this union.
He leaves to mourn his death his wife and four children, Mrs. T. J. Condon of Newark, New Jersey, Miss Virginia of Chicago, Mrs. Lloyd Monroe of Waukon, and Miss Helen at home.
One sister and two brothers also survive, Mrs. Bert Eells of Jamestown, North Dakota, and Henry and Joseph Cassidy of La Crosse.
Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at St. Patrick's church. The Reverend E. J. McDonald sang the requiem mass and burial was in Mt. Olivet cemetery.
The casket bearers were Edward Teeling, James Baxter, Daniel Ryan, Sr., Michael Devitt, Michael Mahoney and James Ryan.
