Mrs. A. Larson is Called by Death
Paint Creek Township lady dies Thursday at age of Seventy-five
Mrs. Anfin Larson passed away Thursday morning, September 8th, at the old Larson homestead near Waterville. She had been confined to her bed since May 15th, and had been tenderly cared for by her husband, her son Ingeman Larson and his wife. Death was caused by hardening of the arteries and high blood pressure.
Mrs. Larson, who was Julianna Bergette Engebretson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Engebretson, was born in Selvig, Norway, on July 7th, 1863. In 1884, at the age of 21 years, she came to America, and settled at Wadena, where she was employed until her marriage to Anfin Larson on November 26, 1894, at the Old East Paint Creek church by the late Reverend Hartman. After their marriage they made their home on a farm in Paint Creek township. Two children were born to this union.
She leaves to mourn her death her husband and two children, Mrs. Emil (Agnes) Thorson of Denver, Colorado, and son Ingeman, on the home farm near Waterville. She also is survived by five grand children, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Old East Paint Creek church, following a short services at the home. The Reverend A. P. Lea officiated and interment was in the nearby cemetery. Special singing was rendered at the home by Mrs. Selmer Sevatson and at the church by Miss Herriet Lea and the church choir.
The honorary pallbearers were Henry Hendrickson, Herman Hermanson, Thor Hermanson, Jens Espeland, Charles Dahl, and Hans Sorenson. The active pallbearers were Oscar Grimsgard, Albert Vorseth, Knut Knutson, W. O. Pladsen and Gabe
Pederson.Those from a distance who came to attend the funeral were Mrs. Emil Thorsen and son Wilbur of Denver, Colorado, Mr. and Mrs. Thor Hermanson of Northwood, Mr. and Mrs. William Sevatson and Mrs. Anna Sevatson of Decorah, Orlando Jeglum of Ostranda, Minnesota, and Mr. and Mrs. Selmer Sevatson of Ossian.
