Lois Lawson

Lois Lawson, daughter of Sherman E. and Augusta (Hammel) Lawson, was born January 24, 1918, on a farm near Postville, Iowa. She died Friday, April 21, 1995, in Northgate Care Center at Waukon, Iowa. She was 77 years old.

Lois attended the rural school northwest of Postville. She lived with her parents all of her life. The family lived on a farm south of Postville and moved into town in 1940. After her father died, Lois and her mother became residents of Thornton Manor in Lansing, Iowa. Later, Lois moved to Makee Manor near Waukon and then to Northgate Manor.

She is preceded in death by her father, Sherman, who died in 1976, her mother, Augusta, who died in 1980, and a sister Delila. Lois is survived by many cousins.

Funeral services were held Monday, April 24, 1995 in the Schutte Funeral Home at Postville, Iowa. The Reverend Verdon Swenson officiated. Special music was provided by Ramona Everman and Amber Radloff. Casket bearers were Richard Hammel, Roger Hammel, Hartley Enyart, Gordon Lawson, Leslie Lawson, and Clifford Lawson, Jr. The Schutte Funeral Service of Postville was in charge of arrangements. Interment was in the Postville Cemetery.
