Joseph Wachter Services

Funeral services for Joseph J. Wachter were held Wed., Feb. 5, 1986 at St. Pius Cherry Mound Catholic Church with Fr. Don Hutchinson officiating. Burial was in St. Pius Cherry Mound Cemetery. Pall bearers were Inspector Instructor Staff, U.S. Marine Corps, Waterloo, Iowa.

Joseph J. Wachter, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Wachter of Harpers Ferry, was born November 14, 1959 at Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. He received his education at Waukon High School. He was serving in the Marine Corps as a Staff Sgt. (Sel.). He had received a Good Conduct Medal, Navy Achievement Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon and numerous written commendations. On January 16, 1982 he was united in marriage to Jullinda Price at Aeia, Hawaii. He had lived in South Carolina and Japan. He was a member of the Beaufort South Carolina Kennel Club.

He died January 31, 1986 at Waukon.

He was preceded in death by a brother Glenn.

Survivors include his wife, Jillinda; a 15 month old daughter, Nichole; his parents Mr. and Mrs. Wachter of Harpers Ferry; maternal grandmother, Veronica Moody of Harpers Ferry; 2 sisters, Mrs. Bruce (Connie) Snitker of Clear Lake, Wisconsin, and Mrs. Gary (Cindy) Egan of Waukon; and 2 brothers, Charles and Gary, both of Harpers Ferry.
