Funeral services were held Friday, November 1 at 10:30 a.m. from St. Patrick's Catholic church in Waukon for John Patrick O'Hare, 86, who died at his home in Waukon Tuesday, October 29, 1985.

A son of Jeremiah and Bridget (O'Laughlin) O'Hare, he was born April 4, 1899 on West Ridge, educated in the rural schools, and farmed until his retirement, having lived in the Hanover and Forest Mills areas.

He and Minnie Burroughs were married in St. Mary's church in Dorchester. She preceded him in death.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Delbert (Mary) Goerdt; and Mrs. Lyle (Catherine) Roffman; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Jeffrey Ries; and brothers and sisters, James, Thomas, Jeremiah, Terrence, Joseph, George and Mary.

Casket bearers were grandsons, Daniel and Terry Goerdt and Ronald Roffman, and grandsons-in-law, Eldon Ries, Robert Greenwood and Robert Edmunds.

Burial was in the West Ridge cemetery.

Hanson's Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
