John Sires, Formerly of Allamakee, Dies in West

John Sires, son of John and Sarah (Duff) Sires, was born January 14, 1875, in Union City township, Allamakee County, Iowa, and died at his home in Bellingham, Washington, September 23, 1935. Death was the result of an automo­bile accident.

Mr. Sires grew to man­hood on English Bench and was mar­ried to Lorena "Rena" Armstrong of Cando, North Dakota. Three children were born to this union: Myrtle who died when a child of about 12 years; Edna, now Mrs. Phillip Arthur of Keystone, Can­ada; and Amber, now Mrs. Ralph of Bellingham, Washington.

Mr. Sires was a member of the M.E. church. He lived for a time near Cando, North Dakota, later moving to Brown­lee, Saskatchewan, Canada, and for the last five years, has made his home at Bellingham.

Besides his widow and daughters, he is survived by six brothers, Frank Sires of College Place, Walla Walla, Washington; William Sires of Sioux City, Iowa; Levi of Postville, Iowa; James Sires of New Albin, Iowa; Roy Sires of near Lansing, Iowa; and Daniel Sires of Dorchester, Iowa; one sister, Mrs. William (Minnie) Spiegler of English Bench, Iowa; and a devoted stepmother, Mrs. John (Katherine) Sires, Sr. of New Albin, Iowa.

His many friends in this neigh­borhood extend sympathy to the fam­ily.
