Death of Mrs. Henry Martin.

After an illness of less than a week with pneumonia Mrs. Henry Martin passed to her eternal rest at her home in this city at 2 o'clock a.m. Saturday morning. She was in her usual good health the previous Saturday and was taken with the dread disease a week ago Sunday morning. From the first her condition was considered critical and everything possible was done for her relief, having the care of two trained nurses, but without avail.

Barbara Sandry was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Sandry, pioneer residents of Lansing township, where she was born August 14, 1855. She was united in marriage with Henry Martin Jan. 27, 1885, and since that time has resided in Waukon. She is survived by her husband, and the following sons and daughters: Mrs. Margaretta McKay, Clear Lake, Wash.; Wayne, of Marquette, Iowa; Willard of Waukon and a step-son, Otto Martin of Waukon and a step-daughter, Mrs. Hulda Davenport, Wausau, Wis., all of whom were present at the funeral. She is also survived by four sisters, Miss Elizabeth Sandry, who made her home with her, Mrs. Margaret Hartfeil, Minneapolis, Mrs. Emma Klein and Mrs. Martha White of Chicago.

During her forty-six years of life in this city Mrs. Martin won the respect and esteem of all with whom she came in contact. She was devoted to the interests of her children and home and the bereaved husband and family have the sympathy of all in their great loss.

The funeral services were held at the home at 2 p.m. Monday and were conducted by Rev. Stucki, pastor of Zion Reformed church, with burial in Oakland Cemetery.
