Former Allamakee Resident Passes Away In Chicago
Elizabeth Sandry, former resident of May's Prairie and Waukon, passed away Friday in Chicago after an illness of about six months.
The deceased was born on May's Prairie, near Lansing, on May 12,1854. Having never been married, she spent most of her life on the home place of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Sandry, later moving to Waukon to live with her sister, the late Mrs. Henry Martin. After the death of her sister in 1931, she moved to Chicago and spent the rest of her life in that city.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Emma Klein and Mrs. Martha White, both of Chicago.
The remains were brought to Waukon and funeral services were held on Tuesday in the Willard Martin home, a nephew of the deceased. The Rev. F. E. Stucki of the Zion Reformed church of Waukon, delivered the funeral sermon, and the body was taken to the May's Prairie cemetery for burial.

Waukon, Ia. - The funeral of Miss Elizabeth Sandry, 84, will be held here Tuesday afternoon at the Milliard Martin home with the Rev. Frank E. Stucki, pastor of the Zion Reformed Church, officiating. Burial will be in Mays Prairie Cemetery on Lansing Ridge.
Miss Sandry died Friday night in Chicago following a six months' illness. She was born on a farm on Mays Prairie, north of Churchtown, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Sandry. following the death of her parents, she made her home here with a sister, Mrs. Henry Martin, until the latter's death in 1931, at which time she moved to Chicago, since her home.
Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Emma Klein and Martha White, both of Chicago.
