Services Held For Jerome Ashbacher

Funeral services for Jerome A. Ashbacher, 71, of Milo, were held Wednesday, Aug. 19 at 1 p.m. at Martin funeral chapel in Waukon. He died Sunday, Aug. 16 in Milo.

The Rev. Henry Heinbuch officiated and burial was in Oakland cemetery. Casket bearers were Randall Ashbacher, Rodney Ashbacher, Christopher Sanderson, Jim Nutting, Bob Nutting, Dave Nutting, and Rick Nutting.

Ashbacher was born may 1, 1910 in Allamakee county, the son of Lewis and Minnie Buege Ashbacher. He attended French Creek schools, was a farmer, a maintenance worker at Simpson college in Indianola, and a member of the Methodist church.

He was first married to Enid Russell who died Jan. 10, 1964. He then married Adeline Galbert in Des Moines Dec.3, 1966.

She survives as do three sons, Albert of Postville, Delbert of Des Moines and Robert of Omaha, NB; a daughter Mrs. John (Joann) Sanderson of Emporia, KS; stepchildren Mrs. Georgia Johnson of Ackworth, and John Galbert and Frank Galbert of Milo; 14 grandchildren; one great-grandchild. a brother John of Waukon, and two sisters, Mrs. Selma Ebner of Waukon and Mrs. Viola Buntrock of Rippey. He was predecease by a brother Floyd and sisters Leonette and Lois.
