The New Albin community was deeply shocked by the sudden death of Mrs. Bennie (Lois Sires) Rosendahl, 55, of Dorchester on Friday. (16 Aug 1974)

She was a daughter of the late Daniel and Anna (Hahn) Sires, who were New Albin residents.

She has many relatives in this area, and many from here attended the wake and funeral on Satruday and Sunday.

Mrs. Bennie (Lois) Rosendahl, 55, of Dorchester, died Thursday, Aug. 15, in a La Crosse hospital after a short illness.

She was born Aug. 27, 1919, in Allamakee county to Mr. and Mrs. Dan Sires, and lived in Dorchester all her life. She married Bennie Rosendahl March 29, 1939.

She is survived by her husband; one son, Lee, of Cassopolis, Michigan; two grandchildren; three brothers, Calvin Sires of Howe, Indiana; Robert Sires of Holton, Michigan; and William Sires of Spring Grove, Minnesota; four sisters, Gladys Sires and Mrs. Norman (Alpha) Rosendahl, both of Waukon; Mrs. William (Roberta) Kannenberg of Cassopolis; and Mrs. Otis (Lorraine) Britain of Dorchester. She was preceded in death by her parents.

She was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church of Waukon.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Potter-Haugen Funeral Home, Caledonia, Minnesota. Rev. Alvin Wolcott will officiate, and burial will be in English Bench Cemetery, Allamakee county.

Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday afternoon and evening and until the service Sunday.

DORCHESTER, Iowa (Special) — Mrs. Bennie (Lois) Rosendahl, 55, Dorchester, Iowa, died at 3:15 p.m. Thursday at Lutheran Hospital, La Crosse Wis., following a short illness.

The former Lois Sires, she was born at Dorchester Aug. 27, 1919, the daughter of Dan and Anna Hahn Sires. On March 29, 1939 she married Bennie Rosendahl. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Waukon, Iowa.
Survivors are: her husband; one son, Lee, Cassopolis, Mich.; two grandchildren; three brothers, Calvin Sires, Howe, Ind.; Robert Sires, Holton, Mich., and William Sires, Spring Grove, Minn., and four sisters, Miss Gladys Sires and Mrs. Norman (Alpha) Rosendahl, Waukon, Iowa; Mrs. William (Roberta) Kennenberg, Cassopolis, Mich., and Mrs. Otis (Lorraine) Britain, Dorchester, Iowa.
