Arnold Keiser, aged 20, of Lansing Ridge, was thrown from a horse on Aug. 4, 1896, broke his neck and died of his injuries. He was the first member of the Catholic Foresters to die in this county.

Fatal Accidents near Waukon.
Democrat:—Early last Thursday morning, the remains of a young man were found lying at the side of the Waukon —Lansing road near the Beck place about a mile beyond the Lycurgus church. The body proved to be Arnold Keyser, residing in that neighborhood. Later developments showed that he was thrown from a horse, and it is supposed that his death was instantaneous.Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows the name spelled Keiser
