Charles White, 16-year old son of John White, of Silver Creek, was killed Sunday when training horses for a running race.

Fatal Accidents near Waukon.

Several youths were congre­gated at the Conner’s meadow on Silver Creek last Sunday afternoon and among other pastimes, horseracing was indulg­ed in. One of the participants was Charlie White, the 15-year old son of John White of this township. While at full speed his horse bolted into a grove and the next instance the boy was picked up unconscious and fatally injured. His skull was found to be fractured, caused it is thought by being hurled from the horse against a tree. He remained insensible until his death, about seven hours after the accident.
