Passing of Mrs. F.E. Feuerhelm

A copy of the Brookings, S. D., Register of the 19th is sent us by W.A. Valentine who lives at White in that state.We find the following account of the death of Mrs. F. E. Feuerhelm, a former resident here. She was a sister of Mrs. Julius Feuerhelm of this place, her maiden name being Scharff, while the husband is a brother of Mr. Feuerhelm. The Register says:

The friends and neighbors were shocked greatly Thursday evening to hear of the death of Mrs. F. E. Feuerhelm, which occurred about 6:30 at her home on Third street. She was sitting with her family at the supper table, when her appearance cause the family to attend her, and found her breathing her last, heart failure being the cause.

Katherine Scharff was born in Ohio February 4th, 1854, and moved to Iowa with her family when quite young..

In 1880 she was united in marriage to F. E. Feuerhelm and lived in Lansing, Iowa, until 1907, when they moved to Bushnell where they farmed until 1914 when they came to their present home in Brookings.

She leaves to mourn her husband and four sons and four daughters who were all present.

The funeral took place at her home Saturday afternoon, the services being conducted under the auspices of the Christian Science church of which she was a member. The interment took place a Greenwood cemetery.

The out of town relatives present were: Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Feuerhelm of Bridgewater, S.D., Mr. and Mrs. Fred Scharff, LaCrosse, Wis., Jake Scharff of ST. Paul, Wm. Scharff of Grindstone, S. D. and Walter Feuerhelm of Beaver Creek, Mn.
