Death of Arthur Evans Lifelong County Resident

The death of Arthur L. Evans, Franklin township farmer, occurred at a Postville hospital on Tuesday of last week, following pleural pneumonia.
As a son of Mr. and Mrs. Abe Evans he was born near Forest Mills, Oct. 4, 1898, and was in his 40th year. He was never married and made his home with his mother near Smithfield, his father, two sisters and a brother having preceded him in death.
Surviving are his mother, who will sadly miss his cheer and comfort in the home; two brothers and two sisters, Mrs. Earl Ralston of Franklin township, Mrs. Herb Frink of Paint Creek township, William of Waterloo, and Carl of La Crosse. Also a nephew, Robert Fish, who resided with them the past twelve years.
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the Presbyterian church in Rossville, conducted by Rev. L. E. Crippen. Burial was in the Smithfield cemetery, the casket bearers being Raymond and Joseph Rose, Will Smith, Earl Henderson, Rufus Seitz and Fred Strelow.
