Road Contractor R. J. Cooney Dies

Waukon – R. J. Cooney, 70 a road building contractor for 40 years, died Sunday in the Waukon hospital.
Services will be Tuesday at 11 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Hanover Township, with Bakke-Hansen funeral home in charge.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Norman Kages, Ft. Wayne, Ind., and Mrs. Thomas Hart, Hopkington; five brothers, the Rev. Edmund Cooney of Cresco, the Rev. Robert Cooney of Manchester, Paul Cooney of Chicago, James Cooney, Cedar Rapids, and Dr. Charles Cooney, Ft. Wayne, Ind.
