Obituary--Mrs. John Feuerhelm

Mrs. John B. Feuerhelm passed away suddenly at the Arthur Feuerhelm home in Waukon, Friday morning, Sept. 17, 1943. She had come here from her home in Oklahoma to attend the funeral of her uncle, the late William Wendel.

Elizabeth Katherine Marten , only child of August and Mary Wendel Marten, was born August 13, 1875 in Garner, Iowa, and most of her early life was spent there. After completing her education, she was a teacher for several years in western Iowa, On February 23, 1910 she was married to John B. Feuerhelm of Lansing, Iowa, where they made their home for three years, moving from here to a farm near Jefferson, Oklahoma, which has since been their home. This union was blessed with one child, Wilma Arlene, Mrs. Feuerhelm was a member of the Methodist Church since her youth, and always found great solace and comfort in serving her Savior, She was affiliated with the Grang, the Rebecca Lodge and the L. H. Club. Her father and mother precede her in death. She is survived by her husband and daughter, Miss Wilma, at home, and an adopted daughter, Mrs Wesley Pickett of Wichita, Kansas, and hosts of relatives and Friends.

Funeral services were held from the Martin Funeral Home, Sunday morning, Rev. L. D. Eaton of the Baptist Church officiating. "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Going Down the Valley" were sung by George C. Aschom of Lansing. Interment will be made in Jefferson, Oklahoma, and funeral services will be held there on Tuesday afternoon.

The out of town relatives here for the funeral were: Mr. J.B. Feuerhelm and daughter Wilma, Jefferson, Okla.; Mr. and Mrs. R.J.Feuerhelm, Lake Park, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Wendel and Mr. Harold Wendel, Mason City; Mr. and Mrs. Howard Feuerhelm, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Feuerhelm, and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Giles and family, all of Albert Lea, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Feuerhelm and family, Prairie du Chien, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Kermit Feuerhelm and family, of Waterloo.
