Services Held for Opal Wendel Of Lansing

Opal Wendel, 66, of rural Lansing, died Sunday, Aug.3 at Lutheran Hospital, La Crosse, WI. Services were held at United Methodist church in Lansing Wednesday, Aug. 6 at 2 pm. with Pastor Tom Mattson officiating at the services.

Opal was born to Benjamin and Lydia Feuerhelm Reiser October 12, 1919 in rural Lansing. She married Kermit Wendel June 14, 1938 in Lansing. She was a housewife and a member of the United Methodist church in Lansing.

Her husband survives, as do three sons, David of Lansing, Stuart of Florida and Gary of Waverly; two daughters, Ruby Gordon of Lansing and Ruth Moritz of Lansing; 11 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

Pallbearers were Lee Feuerhelm, Jum Kelleher, Daryl Bolson, Burton Feuerhelm, Robert Leppert and Donald Leppert. Burial was in Mays Prairie cemetery with Burke-Thornburg funeral home in charge of arrangements.
