Kenneth Burroughs, 88, of Farmersburg, died Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2004 at the Good Samaritan Center in Postville.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 20 at the Glenwood Lutheran Church in rural Decorah with Pastor Susan Debner officiating.

Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, McGregor.

Friends may call Sunday, Sept. 19 from 3-6 p.m. at the Thornburg Hanson Funeral Home in McGregor as well as after 10 a.m. Monday at the church.

Memorials may be given to the Good Samaritan Center in Postville in his name.

Kenneth Burroughs was born in New Albin Nov. 17, 1915 to John and Mary (Olmsted) Burroughs.

He married Esther Meana Aug. 26, 1935 at Decorah.

He worked in construction for many years, living and working in Colorado, Oklahoma, South Carolina and in Waterloo, Cedar Falls and McGregor.

They moved to Farmersburg in 1974.

Kenneth Burroughs also worked many years at McGregor Electronics.

His interests were bowling, music, dancing and his family. He also loved sports, particularly basketball. He was proud that his Luana High School basketball team went to state competition.

Survivors include four children: Sandra (Ron) Beversdorf of Dubuque; Richard (Patricia) Bur-roughs of Guttenberg; Sharon (David) Wieland of Cedar Falls and Linda (Larry) Hulsing of Monona; one granddaughter; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; two siblings: Donald (Bette) Burroughs of Spring-field, Ore., and Helen Goin of Hiawatha.

Kenneth Burroughs was preceded in death by his parents; his wife in April 2004; a sister, Lyle Earle; and brothers Allen Burroughs, Russell Rinker and Duane Rinker.
