Vigil Services for AnnaStacia Kavon were conducted on September 12, 2006 at Fulkerson Funeral Chapel. The Funeral Mass was held on September 13, 2006 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Marcel Vogel officiating. Burial immediately followed at the Plentywood Cemetery. Services were in the care of Fulkerson Funeral Home of Plentywood. AnnaStacia Kavon passed away early Friday morning, September 8, 2006 at Sheridan Memorial Hospital in Plentywood.
AnnaStacia Kavon was the daughter of Louis & Mary (Thimesch) Hammel born July 5, 1931 on the family farm near New Albin, Iowa. She attended rural school in Iowa township, Allamakee County, Iowa through the 8th grade, and high school in New Albin, Iowa.
On September 14, 1948 she married Paul Kavon in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in New Albin, Iowa.
There first home was in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, then St. Paul, Minnesota while Paul worked in the Railway Mail service. In 1953 Stacia and Paul were enticed by Paul’s uncle Joe Kavon to move to Montana and start farming. They rented the land for five years and then purchased it from Paul’s Uncle Joe. To the union of Paul and Stacia were born four boys Michael Kavon, who married Karen Milner of Havre; Howard Kavon; Richard Kavon, who married “Robbie” De Tienne all of Plentywood and Arthur Kavon now living in Boise, Idaho.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 58 years as well as her four sons and their spouses; her four grandchildren Kevin Kavon of Williston, North Dakota; Karl Kavon of Havre, Montana; Rachelle Kavon and Keith Kavon both of Plentywood, Montana.
She is also survived by her one brother Leo Hammel of Holiday, Texas. Her three sisters: Rose Zoll of New Albin, Iowa; Mary Jacobs of Adams, Wisconsin; Lorraine Moericke of Williston, North Dakota.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers Frank & Eugene Hammel.
Stacia loved to garden and liked to have her boys around. She loved flowers when they were blooming and liked to see things green up in the spring. She also enjoyed reading & playing cards and will be remembered for her culinary skills and her beautiful smile.
She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
