There is newspaper date,but I don`t know which paper, possible Postville Herald-Leader, or the Waukon Standard

Obituary: March 15, 1944 (Newspaper date)
Mrs. John Schlie, 55, a former resident of this community, passed away at the University hospital in Iowa City, Saturday following several weeks of illness. Of late years she had been living at Ossian. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Ossian Lutheran Church with the Rev. V.A. Fiskerbeck officiating and interment was in the Postville cemetery.

As Elisabeth Warnholz she was born south west of Postville, in Fayette County, November 25, 1888, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Warnholz. She was married to John Schlie of Postville on June 15, 1910, and them them five children were born, of whom the following are living: Leonard Schlie of Castalia, Margaret, Mrs. Lester Kipp of Ossian, Willard in the U.S. Navy in the southwest Pacific area, and Lawrence of Elkader, one son passed away. Mrs Schlie is also survived by 10 grandchildren, and the following sisters and brothers: Mrs Martin Halverson, and Charles Warnholz of Postville, Mrs. Fred Harnack and Henry Warnholz of Waukon, Mrs. Herman Nuehring of Waterville: Mrs. Bertha Woods and John Warnholz of Mason City, Mrs Emma Crandall of Lewis, Wisconsin, Mrs Floyd Madison of Durand, Wisconsin.
