Rev. Dick F. Harberts, 93, of Cedar Falls, died Monday, April 21, 2014 at Windhaven Assisted Living of Western Home Communities of natural causes.

He was born January 7, 1921 in Grundy County, the son of Fred D. and Lena Casjens Harberts. He married Enola G. Jacobs June 10, 1943 in Glendale, California. She preceded him in death on April 12, 2010.

Rev. Harberts was an ordained minister, serving at Centralia Presbyterian Church in Dubuque, Steamboat Rock Presbyterian Church in Steamboat Rock, First Presbyterian Church in Jefferson, Community Presbyterian Church in Postville, and United Parish Presbyterian Methodist Church in Mechanicsville. After his retirement, he served as Visitation Pastor at Westminster Presbyterian in Waterloo. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in WW II.

Dick is survived by six sons, Steven (Denise) Harberts of Jefferson, Stewart (Renae) Harberts of Essex, Sidney (Maxine) Harberts of Grundy Center, Paul (Lynette) Harberts of Rochester, Minnesota, Craig (Dorothy) Harberts of San Clemente, California, and Clark (Julie) Harberts of Cedar Rapids; one brother, Alfred Harberts of Grundy Center; one sister, Carolyn Harberts of Grundy Center; 18 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; three brothers, Charles, Russell, and Floyd Harberts; and four sisters, Cora Slifer, Delia Rust, Ruth Ascher, and Isabelle Eiklenberg.
