SON OF J. A. COOK DIES IN WILBUR, WASHINGTON
Wilbur, Wash., March 18. -- A military burial was conducted yesterday for Neil Cook, age 33, by George Thompson Post, American Legion. Eben Hanson was in command of the firing squad. Mr. Cook was a brother of the late Merton Cook and the only remaining child of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Cook of Keller, residents of that place since 1910. He served overseas in the World war, twice going "over the top", and winning a medal. Funeral services were at Keller, the Rev. Scott I. Wallace officiating.
Neil Albert Cook was born near Lawler, in Chickasaw county, Iowa, October 28, 1895, and removed to Forest Mills, near Postville, in 1900. He attended school at Forest Mills and later at West Grove until he finished the eighth grade and in 1910 went with his parents to Washington, where he was employed by the U. S. Forestry Service since his return from France in the spring of 1919. He was never married. He was placed beside his brother Merton, who was killed on the Keller ferry boat two years ago, in the beautiful Wilbur cemetery.
