Contributor: Connie Ellis (Not related)Norman E. "Nip" Nipper, age 59, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa died Thursday, November 6, 1986 in St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Services were held Saturday, November 8 at 10 a.m. at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories with the Rev. Jay Miller of Marion First Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial was in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Cedar Rapids with military rites conducted by American Legion Hanford Post #5.
Norman was born March 12, 1927 in Waukon Junction, Allamakee County, Iowa. On August 19, 1950 he married Mary Doyle in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was employed by Agency Truck and Trailer Sales and was associated with White Freight Liner Company for 30 years as a diesel mechanic. He was a member and union steward of Teamsters Union Local 238 and an Army veteran of WWII.
Survivors include his wife, Mary; 3 daughters, Lynn Millsap of Ottumwa, Iowa, Jill Kach of Hiawatha, Iowa, and Patty Marr of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; a son Kirk Nipper of Minneapolis, Minnesota; 2 sisters, Vivian Huffman of Rossville, Iowa and Verla Longer of Monticello, Iowa; a brother, "Bud" of Vancouver, Washington and 8 grandchildren.
