Carolina Margaret Welper was born in Settrup, Hanover, Germany, on July 26, 1864 to Bernard and Anna (Limber) Welper. She passed away at her home in New Albin, on November 27, 1933, at the age of 69 years, 4 months and 1 day.She was baptized and received her religious instruction in the German Evangelical church in Hanover Germany.
In the year 1880, she, with her mother and brothers came to America.
She was married to Gerhardt Middendorf in Eitzen, MN, January 8, 1885.
Shortly after their marriage, they settled on a farm about 5 miles from New Albin where they resided until December 19, 1919, when they moved to New Albin.
She is survived by her grief stricken husband and eight children, Mrs. Lewis (Rosina) Roeber and Mrs. Martin (Alvina) Roeber of Tulare, SD, Walter of New Albin, Edward and George Jr. of Freeburg, MN, Mrs. Herman (Ella) Muenkel of Eitzen, MN, Franklin of Lansing and Elmer at home; 19 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and two brothers.
An infant daughter, Mary, her father and mother, and three brothers preceded her in death.
Mrs. Middendorf was a Christian woman, a good neighbor, always ready to do good wherever the opportunity presented itself. No burden was too heavy and no sacrifice too great for her to make for the comfort and happiness of home and family.
It was after a number of months of illness and in the presence of her husband and eight children she passed into the life beyond.
The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Bemberg on Thursday afternoon at the St. Peter's Evangelical church.
The remains were laid to rest in the New Albin cemetery.
